Eco Church

IMG 6259 (002)

Eco Church is a scheme run by A Rocha UK equipping churches to care for God's creation through their worship, buildings, land, community engagement, and individual lifestyles.

We are very happy to announce that St. Andrews has been awarded the Bronze Eco Church award.

This award highlights St. Andrews efforts in promoting green issues and is a reflection of our commitment to caring for God’s creation and embracing sustainable practices.

We shall now be working towards the Silver award.

Eco Church News

October 2024
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to fill in one of the Lifestyle questionnaires!

The results show that 90% of respondents considered an ethical lifestyle as part of living out their Christian faith and 100% try to limit their waste by reducing, recycling and re-using, buy Fairtrade where possible and try to walk or cycle to church services and events.

An enthusiastic 45% participate in other community activities with an eco-agenda!

Interestingly a 100% of respondents have not completed a personal carbon footprint audit.
For those who may be interested in doing this, we recommend using a carbon footprint calculator such as this one:
