What are the PCC’s Duties?

To co-operate with the Incumbent in promoting the mission of the Church
To consult with the Incumbent on matters of general concern and importance to the Parish
To care for, maintain, preserve and adequately insure the Fabric, Goods and Ornaments of the church
To be responsible for the income and expenditure of the Parish and to agree a Budget
To maintain proper financial records and accounting procedures in the Parish
The prepare and present to the APCM an annual Financial Statement and Report
To arrange for an independent examination of the Financial Statement

Meetings

The PCC meets every 2 months
A quorum is 1/3 of the members
Notice of a meeting with an Agenda is sent to all members 7 days before the meeting
A majority of votes decides the business

Who can be a member of the PCC?

The Vicar
Any deaconess or Lay Worker licensed to the Parish
The Churchwardens
Such Licensed Readers on the Electoral Roll as the Annual Meeting decides
Those on the Electoral Roll who are members of the Deanery or Diocesan or General Synod
Elected representatives of the laity who are on the Electoral Roll – they are normally elected for 3 years
Co-opted members – a maximum of 2 is permitted

The Officers

The Vicar is the Chairman
A Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are appointed
A Child Protection Officer must be appointed

A Charity

The PCC is a Charity and subject to Charity Law
